Our Travels
During the last month we did some ministry related travelling.
Our first trip was to Knysna for a gathering of Leaders from the Eastern Cape Vineyard churches. It was good to catch up with the other guys and to meet a couple of new people. It was also great to have Costa (National Director of Vineyard SA), who was at Knysna Vineyard for the weekend, at the meeting. He gave some excellent multimedia teaching on strategic issues and contextualising Vineyard values. Because of the distance, Glenda and I ended up staying for two nights. We decided to make use of the opportunity to have some time together before the little one arrives. As a result we also got to attend one of the Costa’s sessions at Knysna VCF. His teaching was on spiritual gifts, and was inspiringly practical and it had me itching to get involved in ministry time.
Our next trip was to Chatsworth, Durban for a worship conference at which Andy Park was teaching and leading worship. The conference was excellent, but Durban in February is a sauna and Glenda took serious strain in the heat. The breyani on Saturday night was also good. Richard accompanied us and was enjoying Durban so much that he was tempted to move there. It was good to catch up with family (Glenda’s parents and my sister and brother in law), and to see good friends (especially the Morningside crew and Cora).
This weekend we are off to Port Elizabeth for Andrew and Jacquies wedding. It is the first wedding in our church, and the first one I am officiating at. Pray for me.
